With grief in my heart I learned of the passing of our only relative in Canada. I have good memories of Gerrit visiting our family in Ontario and staying for a few days. It was a special event to have an overnight guest. I enjoyed our yearly birthday phone calls and am grateful for his empathy on the passing of our 18 year old daughter Laura, due to an impaired driver. Gerrit, you will be missed.

My dearest 2nd Cousin, this saddens me that we didn't get one more chance to touch base since Christmas.... am thankful we stayed in touch the last 30yrs since Mom's passing....and I'll miss our twice-yearly gab-fests. You've lived a beautiful life doing good for your community.... I wish you peace...

Gerrit was a kind gentleman. He loved people and dedicated his life's work welcoming many to their forever home. His many trips to Holland to visit family were his joy. He was a man of faith and supported the Church and enjoyed the fellowship with " our Church
family". He has a special place in Heaven and will be remembered in our prayers.????
